The Spurgeon Boys are a local group that performs mainly bluegrass, country, folk, and old-time music.
We play in and around the Maryville, Tennessee area and can be heard at some of the local jam sessions like Rocky Branch Community Center and the Cades Cove Old-Timers day.

Hello! I just wanted to drop you all a line and let you know that the new album is now available! Named Appalachian Traveler, it contains some of our favorite songs about the lives of the Appalachian people. There are a few originals on there as well. Check it out on our "music" page and let us know what you think of it in our "guestbook".
We appreciate all of the help we had along the way getting this project finished up. We hope you enjoy it.

Hey there! Lon and I have been busy this year. Just wanted to let you know of a couple of things we have been involved in lately. Of course, we have been busy recording and we are getting very close to completing our new cd! Also, we have been talking with Eric Spurgeon and Bill Lee for our rock band "The Eric Taylor Band" about getting together to work on some new material. Jeremy has been busy building a home studio. You can see the progress on the photos page. And we are adding some new tracks to the music page of our various projects from different genres as well. We hope you will enjoy them!

The Spurgeon Boys had a great time last night out at WILD WING CAFE. Thanks to Wild Wings Cafe and WDVX for the invitation, we hope that everyone enjoyed it as much as we did!

The Spurgeon Boys performed Saturday at the 2008 Troutfest in Townsend, TN with the help of Bob Holmes and Mark Mincey. We had the opprotunity to perform live on WDVX and we have posted a recording of that broadcast on our music page.

Hey there! Well, another year is here and Lon and I are busy once again getting some shows lined up for this season. We already have a couple of shows booked in May and we are currently working on getting some shows at the Blount Mansion, which is a new venue for us.
One interesting note, the Spurgeon Boys playing will be featured in an exhibit at the Knoxville Historical Society this spring.
We are making progress in the studio and should have a full length album coming up soon with all original songs on it.

Hey there! The Spurgeon Boys sure have been busy! We have been in the studio recording some new material. Check out our music page for some new tracks to listen to. We have also been playing and rehearsing for a few shows. We just played at the Townsend Troutfest 2007. That was a lot of fun and we would like to thank everyone who was involved in putting that together and inviting us to play. We'd also like to thank all the great folks who came and listened to the music!
We will be posting some new performances on our schedule page so check back often. We are also currently talking with Freddy Smith of WDVX to get some of our music played on his morning show, so tune in and give him a listen.

Well, it's a new year and we are off to a busy start! We have been recording some original material and we have a new track posted on our music page for you all to listen to. We are also busy lining up shows for this season and we have posted an upcoming show on the schedule page. We also have some quotes from our listeners on our reviews page so please check those out as well.

We had an excellent day at the Appalachian Fall Homecoming on Saturday. We had a chance to jam with some of the local musicians and we saw some fantastic musicians on stage. If you didn't make it there this year, plan to be there next year!
